DrainX Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for DrainX LTD

Our Terms & Conditions outline the scope of services and materials provided by DrainX LTD. If you have questions about any of these terms, please contact us.

DrainX LTD works are carried out by our Employees and Independent Contractors who are suitably qualified under the authority of DrainX LTD. Independent Contractors have no authority to incur liability on behalf of or to act as agents for DrainX LTD or any of its licensees.

1. Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for preparing the area where DrainX LTD will work, including ensuring clear and safe access and protecting property from incidental accidents (e.g., leaks or spills). Customers are liable for any loss, damage, or injury caused by failure to meet these requirements.

2. Changes to Original Quotation

In some cases, unforeseen circumstances may lead to costs beyond the initial quotation. DrainX LTD will strive to complete the work within the quoted amount. Should additional costs arise, we will promptly notify you, explain the reasons, and provide an updated quotation for your approval.

3. Working Hours and Conditions

Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Work outside these hours will incur additional charges. Before work begins, please inform us of any hazards and ensure clear access to necessary manholes, electricity, and water. If these requirements are unmet, extra charges may apply. The customer must secure any required permissions or planning consents for listed properties.

4. Right to Cancel

You have a 14-day “cooling-off” period after accepting a quotation to cancel services without penalty. If work begins during this period and you cancel, you will be charged for completed work. If cancellation is through no fault of DrainX LTD, a 15% fee on the total quotation will apply.

5. Invoicing and Payment

Domestic Customers: For emergency unblocking, payment is due upon completion. Payment terms are 14 days; overdue invoices accrue 8% annual interest until paid in full. Tenants must obtain landlord permission before service.

Commercial Customers: Invoices are issued on completion, with payment due within 14 days. If not settled within this period, a £10 administration fee and 8% annual interest will apply until paid.

Preferred payment is by card upon job completion or by phone. An administration fee of £10 will apply to any dishonoured cheques.

6. Inspection of Works

Upon completion, the customer should inspect the work. Complaints must be reported within 7 days of completion; otherwise, the work is considered accepted. Emergency unblocking of sinks or bath waste is not covered by the 7-day warranty.

7. Guarantee

Patches and linings are guaranteed for 5 years on labour, with materials covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Water mains installations are guaranteed for 10 years on labour, with materials also covered by the manufacturer. Guarantees are voided by excavation or heavy machinery use near pipework. This guarantee does not limit your statutory rights, available from Citizens Advice or Trading Standards.

Note: Color or texture matching on reinstated tarmac or other areas is not guaranteed.

8. Responsibilities

DrainX LTD is not liable for rust or limescale loosened in existing pipework when full water pressure is restored, as this is sometimes unavoidable.

DrainX LTD and its contractors are responsible only for the pipework they install or directly work on, guaranteeing connections only to the new PE pipe. Issues arising from pre-existing pipework remain the property owner's responsibility.

The customer is responsible for obtaining permissions, such as Opening Notices, Rights of Access, and Tree Preservation Orders. DrainX LTD accepts no responsibility for unauthorized work. Any misinformation provided may result in fines or damage costs billed to the customer.

All agreements for services or materials comply with EU and UK laws.
